If you are interested in becoming a professional firefighter with the Brattleboro Fire department you must have a valid CPAT card, be certified as an EMR, and have Firefighter 1, as well as a drivers license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Firefighters work 24-hour shifts with 48 hours off in between.

Within 6 months of being hired, you must live in one of the following towns: Brattleboro, VT, Vernon, VT, Guilford, VT, Dummerston, VT, Marlboro, VT, Putney, VT, Chesterfield, NH or Hinsdale, NH.

Call Force

Our Call Force is the semi-volunteer portion of the fire department. Monthly meetings and training, as well as ride time, is required. If you would like to join the Call Force call the station for an application at (802)254-4831.
