The Brattleboro Fire Department is a career fire department located in Southern Vermont. The department is made up of three platoons. To become a member you must be Firefighter 1 and Emergency Medical Responder certified. Within six months of being hired you must live within a fifteen mile radius of Central Station at 103 Elliot Street and hold a valid CPAT card. Our firefighters work 24 hours on shift with 48 hours off shift.

If you are selected you will be placed on a waiting list until there is an open position. Our Call Force is the semi-volunteer portion of the fire department. Monthly meetings and training, as well as ride time, is required. If you would like to join the Call Force call the station for an application at (802)254-4831.
